When Healing Becomes a Mission
By Lindsay Wynn
Co-Founder & CEO, Momotaro Apotheca
I don’t know if any of us grow up thinking we’ll one day tell millions of people on the internet about our recurring yeast infections, but here we are.
My hope is that reading this feels like sitting down with a friend who’s willing to overshare, not for attention, but to spark something in you. Whether that’s a new way of thinking about care, a laugh, or simply some relief in knowing you’re not alone.
So, Who Am I?
I’m Lindsay Wynn, co-founder and CEO of Momotaro Apotheca, and I’ve built a business rooted in something deeply personal: the belief that no one should feel shame about their vulva and vaginal health, especially when it’s asking for help.
Before starting this company, I worked in the beauty world as a commercial photographer, chasing glossy perfection. But that version of “perfection” always felt hollow. The turning point came when I started experiencing recurrent yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. Painful, uncomfortable, confusing and worse, treated like a nuisance rather than a legitimate health concern.
I tried everything, from prescription medications to questionable home remedies (yes, including garlic and yogurt), and I still couldn’t find lasting relief. That frustration became a question: Why aren’t there better solutions that don’t just treat symptoms, but address the root cause of the issues – naturally?
That question turned into action. Together with my partner, I started researching, prototyping, and consulting with herbalists, pelvic health experts, and people like me and you, desperate for products that worked with their bodies, not against them.
What We Created
Momotaro Apotheca was created for anyone from puberty to menopause, between and beyond. When your body is inflamed, irritated, off-balance, or just asking for a little extra care, our certified organic, plant-based products are formulated with the same intention we bring to everything we do: honesty, efficacy, and care.
Our product line helps those struggling with:
- Pelvic floor dysfunction and related irritation
- UTI’s and interstitial cystitis
- Postpartum discomfort and perineal trauma
- Chronic bacterial and yeast infections
- Vulvodynia, vestibulitis, and other vulvar pain syndrome
- Perimenopausal and menopausal dryness or inflammation
- Post-sex sensitivity and friction
Whether applied after pelvic floor therapy to ease inflammation, to moisturize irritated tissue, or to help manage hormonal dryness and itchiness, the formulations are designed to be multi-functional, evidence-informed and deeply nourishing.
What Makes Us Different
We didn’t start this company to slap a label on a coconut oil blend and call it a day. We formulated from the ground up with sensitive, reactive, and compromised tissue in mind.
That means:
- Certified organic
- No artificial fragrances
- No harsh preservatives
- No hormone disruptors or unnecessary fillers
- And definitely no ingredients that mess with your pH
Instead, we rely on clinically studied botanicals like calendula, echinacea, tea tree, and Oregon grape that have a long history of use in supporting skin and mucosal tissue. As well as clinical data supporting their efficacy. Our anhydrous (waterless) formulas offer potent, shelf-stable, and microbiome-friendly support, especially useful for areas where pH balance and barrier health are crucial.
Why We Talk About This
At Momotaro, we don’t just make products. We make space for conversations, vulnerability, and real education around sexual and reproductive health. We believe pelvic health is health, period.
So if you’re someone navigating chronic infections, pain with sex, dryness, or post-treatment irritation, we want you to know: You’re not broken. You’re not dirty. You’re not alone and you deserve options that help you feel better in your body.
Leading with Purpose
Leading isn’t about having the answers-it’s about listening, learning, and evolving. We work with OB/GYNs, pelvic floor therapists, midwives, herbalists, and patients themselves to make sure we’re responding to real needs, not trends. We’re here to help create a better standard of care where holistic needs are considered while real support is being provided.
Because pelvic health shouldn’t be taboo.
Because everyone deserves products that respect their body.
Because joy, relief, and pleasure shouldn’t be the exception.
